On Sunday 10thÂ July seven brave ERA-UK representatives took part in the British 10k London Run.
Funds have been raised to support Biddho children affected by AIDS and HIV and autistic children in Eritrea.
This years 10k London run was a great success, a total of 7 ERA-UK representatives ran and completed the task, theÂ seven runners were as follows:
Pictures will be posted on the site very soon, although you can check the respective numbers on marathon-photos.com. Finds are still coming in thick and fast, we will be able to give you the total amount raised within the next month.
A huge thank you to the participants and to their supporters. Your efforts will make a huge contribution to those in Eritrea who need it the most. Watch this space for further information and a report on how the monies raised will be spent.

How Mary would have been moved to see such a gathering of friends and other associates who have been touched directly or indirectly through her untiring support.Â All have come together to commemorate her loving memory as we bid her farewell.
An upright and principled lady that she was, she was also unassuming and would not give much credence to the difference that she brought about to the lives of individuals and to the wider Eritrean cause.
Maryâ��s support for Eritrea goes back to the mid-70â��s.Â One of her written pieces of work, a chapter on â��Ethiopian Violation of Human Rights in Eritreaâ��, (in the book The Long Struggle of Eritrea) based on her visits to the country in 1983 and 84, highlights how during the years of the struggle for independence, Eritrea was suffering atrocities at the hands of an Ethiopian military occupation and an intelligence system master-minded by the then East Germans.Â Against this background Mary, who was then working with War On Want, gave her time and commitment to help in establishing the Eritrean Relief Association in UK (ERA) in late 70â��s. Our annual fundraising event withÂ 12 sponsored runners at the British 10K London Run, is only a few weeks away.Â It takes place on Sunday 10th July, and we have four places available for anyone who wishes to take up the challenge and help in our project.
All proceeds raised at this event will go towards supporting children with Autism and Downâ��s Syndrome in Eritrea. We knowÂ you will agree it isÂ a very worthy cause.
